"But what IS The Graduate?" I hear you ask...
The Graduate is a mock recruitment event designed to provide prospective candidates with the chance to experience how a real recruitment process might work, and gives them an opportunity to understand how to utilise their skills, as well as teaching them new ones, to give them an understanding of what to expect for a real recruitment.
Need to know more? Why not check out our new Frequently Asked Questions section on the event page!
After a rather successful event in 2011, The Graduate returns this year to provide even more applicants with the chance to learn all about the application process to prepare them for whatever jobs they may apply for in the future. Below we detail the four-step programme that applicants can expect to go through.
Stage One - The Application We want to give you a real experience of applying for a graduate job, so we've designed an application form that will challenge you with the same type of competency based questions that most graduate employers are looking for. If you wish to apply, click here to go to the application page, download the form and, once completed, email it back to us at: thegraduate@bcs.org. |
Stage Two - The Assessment Centre Those candidates selected from the applications submitted in the first stage will be sent invites to attend the grand final. Finalists will get a real experience of an assessment centre, which could consist of group exercises, competency-based interviews, psychometric tests and presentations, all of which will provide you with invaluable skills for future job prospects, and allow us to provide you with individual performance feedback. All finalists will be honoured to be selected and will be able to add such an accolade to their C.V, also giving them potentially better prospects for future applications. |
Stage Three - The Results and Awards Ceremony All candidates that have taken part in the second stage (The Assessment Centre) will be invited to join us for an overnight stay in a local hotel where we will hold an Awards Ceremony, where the Winner and runners up will be announced and presented with their prizes. |
And then... - The Future In the days following the event, the finalists will be given the opportunity to gain insightful feedback on how they performed in the individual activities, giving the opportunity to learn about how they came across to potential employers and giving you tips on how you might improve your ratings to score highly for future applications. |
